That does make sense.
That's why, whenever I do a hairstyle that requires actually making a knot with my hair, like dumpling pigtails or something like that, I make it extremely tight, then secure it with an elastic or a pencil/hair stick or claw clip or whatever I'm tying it back with. That way, the hair knot loosens to the tightness I wanted, and it stays in place for hours.
