I need to make a statement and i want to make it as perfectly clear as possible.
1) while i said i understood the standpoint, I never took an official stance on this issue, as doing so would not be prudent to remaining neutral and objective. what I DID say is that the concerns were noted.
2) while posting does in deed drive up web traffic stats, simply by the number of page hits, refreshed and post count, it does NOT mean that those posts are made public. The only page accessible via web search is the Disclaimer page, as all others are set to private status, and contain no meta-tag activity. THEREFORE the only way to access this forum through a search engine is through the lovely disclaimer page which states quite boldly, 18 and older only.
3) No matter how secure a site is, nothing, and i mean nothing ever posted or sent over the internet, is ever private. the age old adage of "the best way to keep a secret between two friends is to kill one of them," has never been more true then on the internet. If you have secrets you want to hide from specific people, please, for the love of all things holy and true, don't even think of putting them on the internet. As a rule of thumb i post nothing that i would be ashamed of having my mother, neighbor, mailman, teacher, or priest see. I suggest you do the same. We could seal this site up tighter then a homophobic southern baptist conservative sphincter at a pride parade, and guaranteed, someone would make an account and say, "hey i know you!" and that folks is the ballgame.
4) remember what it was like to be 15. confused alone, and dealing with a subject that is considered taboo not only in the neighborhood, but most likely in their own home. What did you do to learn? If you stretched the truth to get on a site, look at a porn, open a magazine, or whatever then lets not be hypocritical here.
5) This is in fact a private site, and while it provides a service to the public it does so free of charge. It reserves the right to set policy, and to make decisions which are thought to be in the best interest of the site, without consulting its patrons. It has the right to restrict usage to anyone for whatever reason, and legally, there's nothing that can be done. There are other sites, and if you don't like this one, your free to use them, until you don't like them either, and somewhere along the line realize, that all sites have the same ability to do as I've just stated.
DEATH, this is the last time I will say this to you. Prissy was asked to leave for being a disruption and shes fine with that. She understands, and accepts responsibility for what she did and has moved on, I suggest you do the same in regards to that issue.
6)If there is a particular person you would like to inform us about, that you feel could be a threat to one of our members, please inform us, and we will look into the matter and see what actions can be taken to keep our community, including its members, safe. If that means enacting the rights of every board member to restrict their access, as i discussed in statement 5, then so be it.
