Something I've noticed

I don't know about anyone else, but I feel this community is great.
However, the fact that most of the "active users" don't even post concerns me. I think it may be that they're here just for the porn.

I mean, sure, porn is great. But are these people that are posting or looking at this really helping this community grow?

Just thought I'd give my two cents on this. Thought it might be worthy of a discussion. Maybe. If not, let this thread die.

I have often had similar thoughts Amuk. I guess it is just comes down to two different motivations for being on the forum. It seems that the majority just want free porn but their is a growing group that is really here for the conversation and community. Luckily I think the forum supports both well.

i myself posted a message some time ago noting the exact same thing. Admittedly, since I made my original observations, this small corner of the community has perked up somewhat and is doing far better.

I signed up at a much larger and highly active site in the hopes I would be able to join discussion threads and exchange information. However, all I found there was a lot of nitpicking, disrespectful, cynical and often hypocritical miseries who had nothing better to do than drag other people down to their level or drive out anyone new to the forum so they could carry on with their cliquey banter.

I don;t post there anymore because I can do without the hassle. I don;t post much here, not because of the same problems I have with the 'other' place, thank goodness... But more because of the fact that there is still so few discussion threads here of which i can make any kind of contribution to.

This site, while showing massive potential, has yet to hit the mark of anything much more than a link-exchange for pictures and videos.

I also acknowledge that this is a catch-22. if people like me don;t post more then how is this place to grow into a discussion forum, yet I don't want to get too involved until it turns into that place... So, I'll carry on in the mean-time as i have done. I'll post here and there where I think I can contribute and maybe, hopefully, in the near future, things will get better.

I like knowing how other people live the lifestyle and I enjoy getting ideas.

to date, while i have scanned the porn posts, I've never clicked a link, except the ones in the personal photos section, and then more out of the curiosity to see what other people who post here are doing/into.

I'd say that definately qualifies me here for the conversation, and not the porn, but then again, if a person is here for the porn, How will they ever find this thread to post in??? LOL

I am definitely here for the conversation. I don't allow myself to masturbate so what is the point in looking at porn. I would rather have the real experience!

Yes, anyone who does post in here is here for the conversation and communication aspect of the forums.

I just feel that it's a little insulting that so many people are using this forum basically as free backup storage for their porn collection. Not all of it is BDSM related even! Heck, if you're going to post porn in a BDSM forum, then why bother with the vanilla stuff? Sure, I watch some of it, too, but seriously?

Maybe it's just me, but I think the community would grow faster without the distraction of all that porn.

This is pretty much what I do, also.

I just don't post too much because I like my posts to be relevant and on-topic, and i don't feel the need to post on a thread

- that doesn't interest me
- where what I would have said has already been said
- with potential for argument

and other such things.

But I still lurk and read.

I'm here for the discussion, to learn and get feed back.
Like others I've checked out a few personal picts. but I've already lost interst in any of that.
unless they were posted by an active member.

I have noticed alot of Bot's thought.
you know ,post that supposedly come from real people.
say some thing nonsensical on or off topic
then proceed to tell you to go to some website or contact them in some way
or whose thread starter is about some "great new website or place to go to"
always a link for a tag
I suppose it's only the natural evolution of advertising, for them to find a way around the forums bot defenses.
Try and get one to respond directly to a post some time and see what happens.

Please report the non bdsm posts to in the future, i'll go and check it out now, as it specifically says "BDSM Videos from the net"
