i have a (new)friend that wants to be in the lifestyle, but doesn't even know the basics, and i'm really bad at giving advise and explaining the lifestyle. So i was woundering if any of you knew any good websites were he can get the basic info on the lifestyle, so he can learn about bdsm, and find his place in it? Thank you.

There are lots of sites that one can find just by googling 'bdsm' or various key words like that. Mistress160's BDSM is one site I liked when I was first starting out. Leather and Roses is also good, as is Iron Gate. Down on My Knees is a blog written by a sub who explores a lot of different aspects of submission, while BDSM: A Kinster's Guide is a blog by a female sub discussing how she and her husband play.

The books Different Loving, the Loving Dominant, SM 101, and the Erotic Bondage Handbook are all good resources. All should be available through Amazon, and some will turn up at B&N or Bordes. If your city has a women's sex shop, I recommend browsing their bookshelf (a regular sex shop probably won't have a very good selection of this sort of thing, but a woman's sex shop will).
