I have a few questions about how safe deepthroating is. I have been practicing it for some time however my current boyfriends penis is very large and I have been having trouble with deepthroating him. At first I took it as a challenge however the other day instead of sliding down my throat it just slammed into the back of it, I found this to be rather painful and I still have slight bit of pain there. The current pain isn't much of a concern however I would like to know if it is possible to do any real damage or if there are any other dangers I should know about (other than choking of course). Any answers you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

The human body's gag reflex is a survival instinct to dislodge an object in the airway to prevent blockage which restricts air.

As long as the pharynx and epiglottis are not injured or ruptured during your consumption, which shouldn't be as its not a sharp object, you are fine to deepthroat as you deem fit.

The aspect behind gagging and the myth behind the dangers is that a person could end up suffocating. But as long as the object becomes dislodged after losing conscienness, and normal breathing returns, you will be fine.l

That's wonderful to know I have always been weary of trying to go deeper than I have before out of fear of doing damage, but now that I know the worse thing that could happen is I pass out I can really test my limits. Thank you for the information.

You would really have to be working the oral performance non-stop in order to pass out from lack of oxygen! LOL! It's the point that you are safe and sound to perform as you desire. I understand concerns, so no worries! Quite welcome.

Agreeing that it's not dangerous, but I was just going to add that sometimes different positions can make it easier. Like for me, it's harder if I'm knelt between his legs, but if I'm taking it faceing the other way, (my head pointed towards his feet), I can take it deeper, easier. If you haven't it might be good to experiment.

I find the easiest position is lying on my back on the bed with my head tilted back like smallest said, although I can still perform very well on my knees. Also what do you find easier taking it down your throat yourself, or having him slide it down for you, I find its the latter so long as he's gentle.

i always find putting my head on the edge of the bed is helpful, but that requires my dom to take initiatives, which is a downside. now i am slowly learning to take the whole thing without putting my head on the edge of the bed, but i can always feel the resistance, and it hurts my throat too. i did some research online, people say using a lot of lubrication can help, and i saw one girl saying albolene (some make up remover) is the best lub for deepthroat. it is odorless, tasteless, and a lot of porn stars use it too. hope it helps!
