BDSM in the news again

What I find interesting here is how openly BDSM is being discussed. The article isn't talking around it or trying to sensationalize it beyond the content of the accusations.

We had a similar thing a couple years ago (but with a police officer), so that might have nipped the sensationalizing in the bud. Also, we have more clear laws about consent than a lot of places, so that might help.

I really hope that if the accusations are true, the media won't continue to make it about BDSM (or will, but in a 'consent is key' way, not a 'BDSM is bad!' way).

Yeah, the article doesn't really demonize him for doing BDSM at all. It just says that the women claim they didn't consent to what he was doing. This might be the first news item like this that I've run across. Makes me hopeful.
