Advice on anal after-care?

So I did anal for the first time last night and even though we used lots of lube and we took it slow, my anus is still really sore/burning.

Is there anything I can do to reduce the discomfort? I just soaked in a hot bath and that seemed to help a lot.

Anal play will leave you a little sore the first time or so that you do it. Eventually the sphincter gets used to things going in through the out door and the lingering discomfort mostly vanishes. I've never experienced enough discomfort to qualify as 'burning'. It's possible that your sphincter is unusually tight, or that your partner or the toy you used was fairly large. It might help to use some small butt plugs for a while before you do more anal play. I suppose you could use some numbing lube during the after care (but don't use it during actual play--that's asking for some sort of unnoticed injury).

A slight burning is not unusual, I get it every now and then when I'm out of practice. It should fade with time and as you guys try it more it will become more pleasurable, but DO NOT ignore pain. Pain is a sign that your body is being harmed, that is ok in normal BDSM play but in anal play it can be very bad for you.

Thank you. :] It feels a lot better today.

I neglected to mention that I have irritable bowel syndrome and unluckily enough I had a episode the day after, so I think the acidity might have made the pain a bit worse.

I always hurt after anal, pretty much every time. Master and I don't do it a lot though, because it's not my favorite thing. When we were doing it fairly often the burning disappeared. I always feel like I'm going to tear during.

My advice would be to use a lot of lube, and as said above, use a plug for a while. I'm usually tight, and it sounds like you may be too. That would help. I always have to have Master use his finger first for a while and loosen me up. I'd try that too and you may not stretch that bad, thus a lesser amount of burning. I think other than that it's just a wait it out thing.

Tumble, I have IBS as well, and never noticed a particular correlation between that and discomfort after anal sex. By the way, do you take fiber? When I'm taking about 2 tablespoons of fiber every day, my IBS virtually vanishes (unless I eat a lot of beef fat, which isn't often).

Ah IBS the bane of my exsistance. I actually have it severely, this is why anal is off limits for me.
