A couple of years back I allowed myself to be whipped and beaten into unconsciousness. Now I am wondering about my bounderies ( or lack of them). How do I go about setting myself some bounderies?
The problem here is that I enjoyed it and would have carried on if I hadn't passed out. |

Can you describe the beating. Generally a whipping won't induce unconsciousness...were you also being punched?

While some might be into extreme physical force like that, to me it crosses the line into a real danger zone.
We all have different physical thresholds for one reason or another. But enough force to cause you to black out may also set off some other response in your body. Swelling tissues, cut off blood flow, a piece of plaque gets knocked loose inside an artery and hello heart attack or stroke. It's your life but play safe and sane. |

If you feel like there is anything wrong in your BRAIN, for example, your vision gets blurred, you can't think straight, you feel dizzy, or any other signal that you might faint or black out, you should stop immediately. Whatever pain you're getting into shouldn't have negative affects on your brain--if it does, you're crossing the theshold of safety.

The real question is, how do I set my own boundries. I am beginning to think I am a danger to myself. |

Using a safeword isn't topping from the bottom; it's just common sense.

RACK, subby, RACK:
Risk-Aware Consensual Kink (another version of Safe, Sane, Consensual, I'm just not that sane :P) If you pass out it can have a lot of reasons, and none of them are good. It may simply be because you've been hit in the wrong spot, or continued so long that you basically had an overdose of endorphins. Now, what *can* happen is that you're so spaced out on endorphins you're not able anymore to call your safeword. It's the Top's responsibility to keep an eye out for that and stop at the right time, even if you keep begging for more. Not having a safeword is asking for accidents and a lazy-ass behaviour of bottoms that don't have any sense of responsibility for either themselves or the one they're playing with. Please play safe and be a good girl ![]() |
