FetLife, a social network for the BDSM & Fetish Community

I want to tell you about a project I have been working on for the last 4-5 months.

I am a long time member of ALT and Bondage and have just been getting fed up with the sites and how they treat their members so I decided to create the first social utility, like Facebook, but specifically for the BDSM & Fetish community. I wanted to create a site that allows people to:

* stay in touch with their BDSM & Fetish friends in between events and get-togethers;
* meet new people with similar fetishes;
* learn more about yourself and the lifestyle through others;
* learn more about the fetishes you are already into and discover new ones;
* join discussion groups and chat with like minded people;

The site I created is called FetLife and we launched only a little more then two months ago and we already have over 8,500 members with over 2,500 of them coming back everyday.

Just in case you were wondering, FetLife is free as in mySpace and Facebook free, not Alt and Bondage free, I feel that is the only way for a tool to be useful to the BDSM & Fetish community.
